PDF Files

The software you need

To read pdf files you will need to have the correct software. PDF (Portable Document Format) files require the Adobe Acrobat Reader (or similar) which is available free from Adobe. It can act as a plugin with your Internet browser so that PDF files are automatically opened in the browser.

Adobe offer an online conversion tool (from pdf to HTML). This can be very useful if downloading or reading pdf files (which can be very large) is a problem. The converted file, however, will lose any pictures that were in the original pdf file.
